Civil Service Process

The service of civil process is the statutory duty of the Sheriff.

Types of papers served:

1. Civil Papers
2. Criminal Papers
3. Process related to domestic violence cases
4. Any writ requiring the seizure of real or personal property
5. Orders for civil arrest

Fees: 

• Prepayment of $50.00 required for all services. 
• Prepayment of $250.00 required for service of Execution.
• Mileage: .50 local / plus any additional miles outside of Sidney's city limits at annual rate set by State of Nebraska.
• Occasionally other expenses may be occur. 

Arrest Warrants:  $8.00 / Mileage $0.50

Bench Warrants:  $8.00 / Mileage $0.50

Commitments:  $0.00 / Mileage $0.00

Warrant/Order of Commitments (County):  $0.00 / Mileage $0.00

                                                              (District):  $8.00 / Mileage $0.50

Citation in Lieu of Arrest: $18.00 / Mileage $0.50

Eviction Notices:  $15.00 / Mileage $0.50

Executions:  $18.00 / $0.50 Plus $250.00 required in advance to cover Service papers, mileage, Publications, Appraiser fees, tow trucks, etc. Overage will be refunded

Dissolution of Marriage:  $18.00 / Mileage $0.50

Information / Amended Information:  $18.00 / Mileage $0.50  

Letters:   $15.00 / Mileage $0.50

Protection Orders (Domestic / Harassment):   $0.00 / Mileage $0.00

Summons / Subpoena's:   $18.00 / Mileage $0.50

Writs of Restitution:   $18.00 / Mileage $0.50
