Civil Service Process
The service of civil process is the statutory duty of the Sheriff.
Types of papers served:
- Civil Papers
- Criminal Papers
- Process related to domestic violence cases
- Any writ requiring the seizure of real or personal property
- Orders for civil arrest
Fees:
- Prepayment of $50.00 is required for all services.
- Prepayment of $250.00 is required for service of Execution.
- Mileage: .50 local plus any additional miles outside of Sidney's city limits at an annual rate set by the State of Nebraska.
- Occasionally, other expenses may occur.

Executions: $18.00 / $0.50 plus $250.00 required in advance to cover service papers, mileage, publications, appraiser fees, tow trucks, etc. Overage will be refunded.
Dissolution of Marriage: $18.00 / Mileage $0.50
Information/Amended Information: $18.00 / Mileage $0.50
Letters: $15.00 / Mileage $0.50
Protection Orders (Domestic / Harassment): $0.00 / Mileage $0.00
Summons / Subpoena's: $18.00 / Mileage $0.50
